NYU Athletics Finishes Seventh in Directors' Cup Standings

Violets End With 1029.25 Points

New York University Athletics completed the 2025-26 season with a seventh-place finish in the Learfield Directors' Cup Division III standings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics on Tuesday, June 9.

After totaling 812.25 points through the Winter season, the Violets added on with 217.00 points during the Spring for a final score of 1029.25. 

NYU Athletics moved up one spot from its eighth-place finish in 2024-25.

NYU's Spring was highlighted by a third-place finish by women's golf at the NCAA Championship. Additionally, men's volleyball scored points by qualifying for its NCAA Tournament, while the women's and men's outdoor track and field teams posted 23rd- and 34th-place finishes at their respective NCAA Championships. 

In what was an historical year for NYU from start to finish, the Violets collected National Championships in both women's cross country and women's swimming and diving, as well as top-four finishes in men's cross country, women's basketball, men's swimming and diving, and wrestling. 

Overall, 15 NYU teams qualified for NCAA postseason competition.
