Two members of the New York University baseball team have earned an All-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection as announced by the conference on Tuesday, May 5.
Both
CJ Franchini and
Kosta Mocklis were named to the All-UAA Second Team. This is Franchini's first All-UAA nod and Mocklis's second.
In his second season with the Violets, Franchini slashed .411/.473/.629 with 37 runs, 38 RBI, 12 walks, and three stolen bases. Additionally, he tallied 17 extra-base hits, including five home runs. His .411 batting average ranked first in the conference, while his 51 hits and 12 doubles led the team. The Selkirk, NY, native reached base safely in 30 of 32 games started.
Mocklis closed out his collegiate career with a slash line of .339/.463/.701 on the year with 41 runs, a UAA-best 50 RBI, 18 walks, and five stolen bases. His 11 home runs not only led the conference, but also put him in first place in program history for most career home runs with 22. The graduate student also collected 11 multi-RBI games and 14 multi-hit games.
As a team, the Violets finished the year with 13 wins, including five against conference opponents.
