Five New York University student-athletes have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large teams.
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan of men's golf,
Zach Knudsen and
Devyn Nguyen of men's volleyball,
Cooper Pontelandolfo of wrestling, and
Nalinda Wanikpun of women's golf were honored.
This is both Pontelandolfo and Wanikpun's third time earning this accolade. Knudsen has now made the team for a second straight season, while both Luangtana-Anan and Nguyen have made it in their first years of eligibility.
Registering his career-best finish at the NCAA Championships this past season, Pontelandolfo was the national runner-up in the 157-pound weight class and earned All-American status for a fourth year in a row. The Marlton, NJ native was also named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Wrestler of the Year for a third consecutive season.
Both Knudsen and Nguyen earned several accolades en route to a quarterfinal appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Knudsen was named the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year for the third time in his career, while Nguyen was named the conference's Co-Player of the Year.
Luangtana-anan made both the All-Liberty League First Team and Second Team All-UAA, as well as the PING All-Region II Team.
Capping off her career with the Violets this past Spring, Wanikpun finished the year ranked fifth nationally and made the All-Liberty League First Team.
