Six members of the New York University men's and women's tennis teams were named to the 2025 University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Association Teams.
The men's team had four student-athletes recognized, while the women's team placed two on the All-UAA Teams.
Boren Zheng was named All-UAA First Team for Singles and Doubles. In singles play this season, he posted a 9-4 record with wins over nationally-ranked opponents from Hobart and Skidmore. The junior from Fujian, China, was the Violets' #1 singles players for the entirety of the season.
Zheng and
Philip Martin were named First Team Doubles after finishing the season with an 11-3 record as NYU's #1 doubles team. The pair produced a victory in the Violets' opening match of the UAA Championship over their counterparts from #24 Carnegie Mellon.
Martin was also named Second Team Singles after posting a 9-0 record. The Los Altos, CA, native played all but one match in the #2 slot, posting wins against three nationally-ranked opponents.
Jingyuan Chen was named Honorable Mention as the Violets' #3 singles player. He finished the season with a 10-4 singles record, including a win against Carnegie Mellon as part of the Violets' victory over the ranked Tartans at the UAA Championship. Chen and
Louis Frowein also earned Honorable Mention in doubles play as the Violets' #2 duo went undefeated through four dual matches together, including wins in all three of NYU's UAA Championship matches.
Jimena Menendez, NYU's all-time leader with 60 career victories, was selected All-UAA First Team. NYU's #1 singles player went 12-1 this spring and posted a 20-3 overall record including tournament play in the fall. She also won two matches against nationally-ranked opponents.
The Violets' #3 singles player,
Victoria Wang, received All-UAA Honorable Mention. She finished the season with an 8-4 record at #3, including a win against Rochester at the UAA Championship.
Zheng and Menendez are set to represent NYU at the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont, CA, beginning May 23 and 24, respectively. They will both compete in their respective individual singles tournaments following the team competitions.
