New York University's men's and women's basketball teams have earned numerous accolades from
D3hoops.com.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has also honored members of the men's team.
Head Coach
Dave Klatsky was named NABC District IV Coach of the Year, while
Tristan How received NABC District IV Player of the Year honors and was also named to the
D3hoops.com Region IV First Team.
Zay Freeney earned NABC District IV Second Team and
D3hoops.com Region IV Third Team honors, alongside
Brock Susko.
Natalie Bruns of the women's team was named
D3hoops.com Region IV Women's Basketball Most Outstanding Player. Joining Bruns on the Region IV First Team are
Caroline Peper and
Belle Pellecchia.
Bruns continues to add to her list of accolades following an exceptional season with the Violets, which included helping to lead them to an undefeated record. She was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year and earned First Team All-UAA honors for the second consecutive season.
Pellecchia also had an outstanding season, becoming the first player in UAA history to win four consecutive UAA Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Peper's exceptional performance this season also earned her a spot on the All-UAA First Team.
How made an immediate impact in his first year on the men's team, helping the Violets secure their second consecutive UAA Championship. The graduate student was named UAA Player of the Year and earned First Team All-UAA recognition.
Freeney and Susko were both named Second Team All-UAA for their key roles on the UAA Championship-winning team.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) will announce its awards on Wednesday.
