The New York University men's fencing team was defeated by Harvard University by a score of 16-11 on Saturday, February 1, in Cambridge, MA.
The Violets were able to secure a victory in epee with a 5-4 result. The foil squad saw a narrow defeat by a score of 5-4, and the team also took a loss in saber with a final score of 7-2.
Ajit Sivakumar led the charge for the Violets in epee with a 3-0 record on the day.
Thomas Murphy and
Steven Grams each notched important victories to give the team the edge in the category.
In foil,
Farr Dickson finished with a record of 2-1, with the two additional victories coming from
Adam Wong, and
Anup Banerjee.
Faaris Hussain and
Jerry Pan each had one victory in saber.
