New York University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced its executive board for the 2024-25 academic year.
Gavin Egerton of the men's swimming team will serve as President, continuing his role from 2023-24, with teammate
Gustavo Ott as the Vice President.
Izze Ching (women's soccer) will be Head of Events,
Aditi Narayan (women's tennis) takes the Head of Communications role,
Miles Kessler (baseball) will be Head of Career Development, and
Karleigh Kluever (softball) will serve as Head of Community Engagement.
SAAC is a student-led group where student-athletes can connect with other teams, the Athletic Department, and the larger NYU community. They find ways to support members within their own community, as well as to positively impact the larger community around them.
The mission of the NYU SAAC is to assist in making every varsity student-athlete's experience at the University rewarding and to develop relationships between NYU varsity sports teams. In addition to the SAAC's work within the athletic department, the Committee is dedicated to providing opportunities for all NYU student-athletes to participate in University and community service events that foster positive relationships between our students and the environment in which they reside. SAAC strives to uphold the following four core values:
- Serve as a liaison between student-athletes and administration,
- Provide community service opportunities for teams,
- Foster engagement and a sense of community between teams, and
- Support student-athlete's career development and post-graduate plans.
Michele Canning, Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives and Student Development, is the SAAC Advisor.
