New York University's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced its Executive Board for the 2022-23 academic year. SAAC is a student-led group where student-athletes can connect with other teams, the Athletic Department, and the larger NYU community. SAAC strices to uphold the following four values: serve as a liaison between student-athletes and administration, provide community service opportunities for teams, foster engagement and a sense of community between teams, and support student-athlete's career development and post-graduate plans.
Caitlin Fong and Haley Holz will share the title of Co-President and are joined by four Vice Presidents -- Emily Rodriguez, Gavin Egerton, Thomas Pritchard, and Nikki Lee.
Caitlin is a defender and Nikki is a midfielder for the NYU women's soccer team. Emily, Gavin, and Thomas are members of the NYU swim team, and Haley plays outside hitter for the women's volleyball team.
"We are very thankful for the work that the outgoing SAAC E-Board members, Rebecca Choi, Imaal Ahmed, and Jake Haines, have done for SAAC and the NYU Athletics community. They helped transition SAAC back to in-person events after the pandemic and dedicated their time to help other student-athletes. We are excited to see what they will accomplish as they move on to the next chapter of their lives," said Caitlin Fong.
Each Vice President will chair a sub-committee: Emily Rodriguez will be responsible for Career Development, Gavin Egerton for Community Development, Thomas Pritchard for Events, and Nikki Lee for Communications.
