Women's Swimming Cruises Past Rowan

Third-Ranked Violets Dominate Profs

The New York University women's swimming team earned a 192-68 win over Rowan University on Saturday, October 26, in Glassboro, NJ.

Ranked #3 in the nation, the Violets delivered strong performances across the board, winning 11 of the 14 events.

Leading the way was UAA 800-Yard Freestyle Relay Champion Emery Muller, who took first in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.96) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:12.82).

Sarah Pierson earned the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle (24.62), while NCAA Qualifier Zeynep Tokuz secured a win in the 400-yard individual medley (4:34.31).

NCAA Division III Swimmer of the Year Kaley McIntyre captured first place in the 100-yard freestyle (52.50), and Nicole Ranile came out on top in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:34.16).

Anna Li, a UAA 400-Yard Medley Relay Champion, took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.47), while Calista Lynch added to the Violets' wins with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.93).

"For the second week in a row, the women delivered a dominant performance," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "We've had a really tough week of training, so it's great to see them rise to the challenge, swim through the fatigue, and still perform well."

The Violets will compete next on Friday, November 1, when they host Stevens and Drew University at the Palladium Athletic Facility in New York, NY. Diving will start at 1:00 PM, followed by swimming events at 5:00 PM.
