The New York University women's swimming and diving team opened the final meet of the season on Wednesday, March 18, at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships. The meet is hosted by Franklin College at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN.
After four events, the Violets lead the field with 121 points.
"I was really impressed with our swimming tonight," said Swimming Head Coach
Trevor Miele. "Our team put up outstanding performances across the board."
Kaley McIntyre scored her first National Championship of the week in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 22.45. McIntyre is now a four-time winner in the event, sweeping her college career.
Maeve O'Donnell (23.03) scored All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the championship final. Lian Engle Jeong (23.02) earned All-America Second Team after finishing second in the consolation final and 10th overall.
"Kaley's consistency over four years to win this event has been truly remarkable," said Miele. "Having three swimmers score in the 50 free was a massive haul for the team."
In the first event of the Wednesday evening session, three Violets made the 500 freestyle championship final.
Llew Ladomirak (4:49.53) led the way for NYU in third place, followed by
Aanya Wala (4:54.24) in seventh place and
Emery Muller (4:56.26) in eighth place. All three earned All-American honors.
Bethany Spangler (4:52.38) earned All-America Second Team after finishing ninth overall and first in the consolation final.
"Llew and Bethany set the tone for the team early tonight in the 500," said Miele.
The Violets ended the night with the 400 medley relay. A 47.81 freestyle anchor leg by McIntyre helped pull the Violets into third in the final race of day one. The team of O'Donnell,

Nicole Ranile, and McIntyre turned in an All-American time of 3:41.83.
Day two of competition kicks off Thursday morning at 10:00 AM EST with prelim races, followed by the three-meter diving competition and the evening finals, beginning at 6:00 PM.
