David Thompson, head coach of NYU's men's and women's track and field programs, has announced his incoming recruiting classes for the 2022-23 season. A total of 18 rookies, nine each for the men and women, will join the Violets this coming year, along with the 22 cross country and distance runners that were announced last week.
In the sprints, jumps and throws groups, eight men and five women graduated in May as the incoming freshmen join a large group of returners. The newcomers bring depth to the roster, namely in hurdles and jumps events, with many of the commits coming in as multi-event athletes. Thompson is looking forward to getting started with his first recruiting class at NYU as they become familiar with the tradition and unique nature of training in New York City.
