New York University head cross country coach Tyler Deck Shipley has announced the program's incoming recruits and transfers for the 2022 season. The Violets welcome 11 athletes on both the men's and women's sides for Deck Shipley's first recruiting class at the helm. Each team graduated just three student-athletes this past year as the 22 newcomers will add depth and competition to the rosters while also competing in distance and middle distance events for NYU's track and field teams.
The majority of the women's recruits come from the west coast, specifically California and Washington, while the bulk of the men's newcomers are New York and New Jersey natives. Deck Shipley sees this group as a starting point for sustained success from the program.
