Hannah Lee and
Erin Scott of New York University's softball team received Second Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) accolades, announced by the league office this morning.
Both Violets transferred to NYU after playing two seasons at Division I Lafayette College and their impact was immediately felt. Scott batted .385 on the year, not including NYU's season finale at Hunter College this evening, to lead the squad while Lee ranked second with a .330 average.
Scott's batting average placed third in the UAA; Lee also hit .352 in Association play, good for ninth in the league. Scott led the Violets with three home runs while her 25 RBIs tied for sixth in the Association.
The duo anchored the heart of NYU's lineup all season as Scott roped a team-leading eight doubles while Lee accumulated seven of her own and drove in 16 runs on the year.
Scott collected eight multi-hit games, including a stretch of four straight from March 18-25. Lee recorded multiple hits 10 times, most notably three-in-a-row during the Violets' series against Emory University in mid-April.
NYU has won six of its last eight games, including four victories in the last five, and finished fourth in the UAA with a 7-11 league record. The Violets hold a 15-20 overall mark entering tonight's doubleheader at Hunter.
