The New York University Men's and Women's Fencing Teams competed at the Shark Showcase, hosted by Long Island University, on Sunday, February 6, in Brooklyn, NY.
Each team faced three opponents and came away with two victories.
The men's team, currently
ranked #10 in the nation by the USFCA, defeated #2 Columbia University 14-13. The Violets also defeated Hunter College 25-2, but fell to St. John's University 15-12.
The NYU women, currently
ranked #15 in the nation, defeated St. John's 15-12 and host LIU 17-10. The Violets lost to #3 Columbia 19-8.

The NYU women's team returns to action next Sunday, February 13, at the FDU Invitational in Hackensack, NJ. The men's next competition will take place at the George Kolombatovich Historical Meet at Columbia University on Wednesday, February 16.
