Three New York University women's soccer student-athletes earned All-Region IV honors from the United Soccer Coaches (USC) after the Violets posted their eighth straight winning season in 2022.
Gabriella Funk landed on the First Team while
Samantha Rathe and
Tate Jordan received Second Team recognition. Funk and Rathe also recently garnered First and Second Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honors, respectively.
Funk led NYU with seven assists and her six goals were third on the team, culminating in a team-high 19 points during her senior campaign. The California native led the UAA in assists during league play (four) and tied for third in total assists. She started all 17 games for the Violets and recorded at least one in assist in each of the team's final three outings.
Rathe, a stout defender, also started all 17 games and logged 1,286 minutes which were second on the team. The junior led NYU's defense to eight clean sheets on the season as the Violets tied for fourth in the UAA in both fewest goals allowed (16) and shutouts.
Jordan, a graduate transfer from Division I American University, made an immediate impact as she netted a team-high eight goals on the season. She tied for ninth in the UAA in goals and tied for second on the team with 17 points. The Massachusetts native had two separate stretches with a goal in three straight outings, scoring in back-to-back UAA matchups against University of Chicago (Oct. 28) and WashU (Oct. 30).
NYU women's soccer finished with a 9-3-5 record and 3-3-1 mark in UAA play, placing fourth in the Association.
