NYU Hall of Famer and former United States Olympian Bruce MacDonald, 92, passed away on Monday, March 30, at an assisted living facility in Port Washington, NY.
A member of the NYU Class of 1951, MacDonald was inducted into the
NYU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995.
A track star out of Bayside High School in Queens, NY, MacDonald was a three-time USA Olympic racewalker (1956, 1960, 1964), a two-time USA Olympic Team Manager (1968, 1972) and then a two-time Olympic official (1984, 1996).
Active in the Tri-States Olympians Chapter for many years, McDonald was a dedicated teacher and coach at Schreiber H.S. in Port Washington, NY, for several decades.
