Men's Fencing Completes Competition at Philly Invitational

Violets Have Tough Day on Sunday

Philadelphia Invitational Results

The New York University men's fencing team competed on the final day of competition at the Philadelphia Invitational, which was being hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday and Sunday, January 19-20, in Philadelphia, PA.

The Violets suffered losses to host Penn (14-13), Yale University (14-13), Ohio State University (15-12), and the University of Notre Dame (19-8).

There were many outstanding performances today for the Violets. Zohaib Mannan had another big day with a record of 9-2 in foil. Sam Bekker and Liam Carpenter both finished the second round with six wins each in epee.

Matt Chen led the sabre team with four victories. 

The Violets return to action on Saturday, February 2, when they go head-to-head against Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
