Men's Volleyball Tops Vassar College

Violets Post Straight-Set Victory

Klein led the way with 15 kills.

The New York University men's volleyball team (15-10) won on the road with a straight-set victory over Vassar College (9-20) in Poughkeepsie, NY, on Thursday, April 3.

The Violets defeated the Brewers by scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-17.

NYU got off to a rough start in the first set. But, after back-to-back kills by Nick Capriccio and Chase Klein, the team never looked back. 
 
The second set followed suit, though the Violets were quicker to regain the lead and take the win.  

The Violets led the entire way in the third set en route to the match victory.

"It was a strong performance by our team," said Head Coach Jose Pina. "The guys were focused and able to press Vassar through all three sets." 
 
Highlights:

- Klein led the team with 15 kills.
 
- Connor Mortland doled out 32 assists.

- Jacob Getz led all players with 10 digs.

- Capriccio hit .556 with five kills.

"Getz, Mortland and Klein each had strong all-around performances," Pina added. 

The Violets returns to action against Ramapo College next Wednesday, April 9, in the Violets' last home match of the season. First serve at the Coles Sports Center is set for 7:00 pm
