Men's Volleyball Falls to #3 New Paltz

Violets Cap Conference Play With a Loss

The New York University men's volleyball team (12-7, 5-6) lost to #3 SUNY New Paltz (20-3, 8-2) on Thursday, March 13, in New Paltz, NY. The United Volleyball Conference (UVC) match lasted three sets and was decided by a score of 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.
 
NYU led 2-1 early in the first set, but the Hawks captured the next seven points and never relinquished the lead. New Paltz started off the second set by winning seven of the first eight points en route to a comfortable win. The Violets kept the third set close, trailing just 10-8 before dropping five of the next six points.
 
The Violets finished below .500 in conference play for the first time since joining the UVC in 2012.

The Violets will travel to Newark, NJ, on Saturday, March 15, for two matches against NCAA Division I opponents. The team will take on Princeton University at 2:00 pm before competing against host Rutgers-Newark at 5:00 pm.
