The New York University men's fencing team faced a variety of opponents at the Eric Sollee Invitational on Saturday, February 1, in Waltham, MA.
NYU started the invitational against Boston College, winning 23-4. In the second round, NYU lost to #9 Brown University 16-11. In the final round of the morning session, the Violets beat Haverford College 19-8.
In the fourth round, NYU lost to Massachusetts Institute of Technology 18-9. The Violets earned victories in the last two rounds, beating Hunter College 24-3 and host Brandeis University 15-12.
The Violets finished the invitational with a record of 4-2 and has an overall record of 7-12 on the season.

Christian Vastola finished the invitational with a 17-1 record in foil.
- The sabre trio of
Andrew Kelly (9-3),
Jerry Xu (9-4) and
Quinten Burgunder (9-3) had a combined record of 27-10.
- In epee,
Enrique Cavazos (10-7),
Evan Accardi (10-5) and
John Cramerus (11-6) had a combined record of 31-18.
NYU is back in action on Wednesday, February 5, four a quad meet at Columbia University in upper Manhattan.
