NYU Soccer Continues UAA Play This Weekend

Violet Men and Women Will Host Emory and Carnegie Mellon

Liam Stimpson (left) and Cami Crawford (right) will look to find the back of the net against Emory and Carnegie Mellon.

The New York University men's and women's soccer teams continue University Athletic Association (UAA) play this weekend against Emory University and Carnegie Mellon University, at Gaelic Park, in Riverdale, NY.

Both Violet squads will battle Emory on Friday, October 17, and square off against Carnegie Mellon on Sunday, October 19. The men will kick off both doubleheaders at 11:00 am, with the women scheduled to follow at 1:30 pm.

Freshman Liam Stimpson leads the Violet men (10-2, 1-1) in points (15) and is followed by classmates Malcolm Montilus and Nicolas Notaro (11). Goaltender Lucas Doucette (four shutouts) will look to continue his successful season, first against the ninth-ranked Eagles, and again versus the Tartans.

The Violet women (9-3, 2-0), ranked nationally (23) for the first time since 2002, will look to improve their undefeated Association record against a pair of ranked opponents. Emory is currently ranked ninth in the country, while Carnegie Mellon is ranked fifth.

Senior Cami Crawford (13 points) leads the NYU women offensively and reigning ECAC Defensive Player of the Week Cassie Steinberg (six shutouts) leads the Violets defensively. Steinberg has recorded four straight shutouts, not allowing a goal since a 5-1 victory over DeSales University on September 27.

Live stats (men, women) and live video will be available for both of this weekend's doubleheaders.
