NSCAA Rankings (10/14/14)The New York University women's soccer team is ranked #23 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's National Poll, released on Tuesday, October 14.
The Violets (9-3, 2-0 University Athletic Association) are winners of seven straight contests and have started UAA play with two victories. NYU is now the only undefeated team in Association play.
"We've been working really hard this season and it's great for our efforts to be recognized," said NYU Head Coach
Michele Canning.
Joining NYU from the UAA in the National Poll is second-ranked Washington University-St. Louis, #5 Carnegie Mellon University, ninth-ranked Emory University, #13 University of Chicago, and Case Western Reserve University (receiving votes).
This is the first time NYU has been ranked nationally by the NSCAA since the Violets were tied for #12 in the final poll of the 2002 season.
NYU returns to the pitch for two tough games this weekend. The Violets take on Emory (7-1-3, 0-1-1 UAA) on Friday, October 17, then face Carnegie Mellon (9-1, 1-1 UAA) on Sunday, October 19. The Violets are hosting both contests beginning at 1:30 pm,
