Cassie Steinberg of the New York University women's soccer team was awarded the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, October 15. This is her
second career weekly honor.
The sophomore goalkeeper recorded her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season, helping the Violets defeat
Brooklyn College 4-0 on Tuesday, October 7, and
Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, October 11, in a 1-0 double overtime thriller.
Steinberg's shutout against CWRU marked her fourth in the last five games. She recorded three saves in the contest, improving her record to 9-3 on the season.
The Violets will return to the pitch on Friday, October 17, as they take on University Athletic Association opponent Emory University at Gaelic Park, in Riverdale NY. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 pm and
