ResultsNew York University's men's swimming and diving team won every event in its season-opening dual meet against SUNY Cortland, which the Violets hosted on Saturday, October 11, at the Palladium Athletic Facility (PAF) in Manhattan.
The final score was 193-87.

Chad Moody, making his collegiate debut, won the 50-yard freestyle (22.08) and the 100-yard freestyle (47.74). He also participated on the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:37.04) along with freshman
Adam Betts, freshman
Joe Baron and senior
Matt Kendall.
"Overall, we swam really well today,"
said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "Obviously, we have a large and talented freshmen class, and they came out to race and compete.
They really pushed our returners who swam really well, too."HIGHLIGHTS:- Diver
Austen Blease finished first in the one-meter and three-meter competitions with respective scores of 312.07 (NCAA qualifying) and 281.79.

- NYU freshmen contributed greatly to NYU's win.
Austin Palmer won the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:36.10) and contributed to the winning 200-medley relay Betts also won the 100-yard backstroke (53.34) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.63),
Jomiguel Poblete won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.27) and
Christian Alonte was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.38).
- Sophomore
Max Phillips was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.60) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.12).
"Today was a great way to start the season," Miele added. "But, there's a long way to go. Hopefully, we can just keep getting better."NYU will next compete at the University of Rochester Invitational on Friday and Saturday, October 24-25, in Rochester, NY.
