The New York University wrestling team will compete in a pair of dual matches against Centennial Conference opponents on Saturday, February 1, at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA.
NYU will face host Gettysburg, as well as fellow conference rival Muhlenberg College. The squad has gone 4-8, with a 1-3 record thus far in Centennial competition, picking up its first conference win by a margin of 34-12 over Washington and Lee University at Hunter College on January 25.
Junior co-captains
Brandon Jones (141 pounds) and
Matt DiGiovanni (157 pounds), along with freshman
John Messinger (165 pounds), each went 2-0 in a pair of conference matches vs. Centennial foes Washington and Lee and Johns Hopkins University last week. Jones is currently ranked #2 in his weight class by the
National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), while
DiGiovanni was honored on Tuesday, January 28, as University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for his efforts last week.
Action is set to begin at 12:00 pm, as NYU takes on Muhlenberg, followed immediately by a match against Gettysburg. Live Results for the entire event are available
