Men's Fencing Prepares for Eric Sollee Invitational at Brandeis

Violets to Compete against Six Squads

The Violets get back into action on Saturday.



The New York University's men's fencing team returns to competition on Saturday, February 1, against a variety of opponents when the Violets travel to Waltham, MA, for the Eric Sollee Invitational.

The Violets will face #9 Brown, as well as Boston College, Haverford College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hunter College, and host, Brandeis University.  

Recently, the Violets hosted the NYU Invitational, finishing 1-5. The squad earned a victory over Wayne State University and lost by one point to both Yale University and the University of North Carolina. After the tournament, Andrew Kelly was named University Atheltic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday, January 27, due to a stellar performance in sabre.

The Violets have a 3-10 record on the season with victories over Drew University, Vassar College and the Wayne State Warriors.

Last year at the Eric Sollee Inivtational, NYU earned a 2-4 record. The Violets beat Haverford 19-8 and finished the day beating Boston College 16-11.
