Men's Volleyball Defeated at Stevens Tech

#11 Violets Fall to #6 Ducks

The New York University men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday, March 22, in Hoboken, NJ.

The Violets, ranked #11 in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches Poll, were swept by the #6 Ducks 25-22, 25-16, 25-17.

NYU fell to 9-11 overall and 7-4 in its final United Volleyball Conference (UVC) match of the season, while Stevens went to 21-6, 10-1.

Highlights:

- A pair of Violets, Nick Capriccio and David Lauer, each had seven kills. Capriccio alos recorded two blocks and hit .429.

- Connor Mortland totaled a team-high 23 assists.

- Dylan Ramey led NYU with a team-high seven digs.

- Thomas Hannum had a match-high 10 kills for Stevens.

"We had a strong showing by a number of our student-athletes who normally don't see too much action," said Head Coach Jose Pina. "We played hard and competed well against an experienced, top level Stevens team."

The Violets return to the court tomorrow at 11:00am for a match againt Cairn University, also hosted by Stevens in Hoboken.
