Men's Fencing Team Honors Seniors at Family Day

Violets Go 1-2 in Quad Meet at Coles

The New York University men's fencing team hosted its annual Family Day at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center in Manhattan on Thursday, February 7, and went 1-2 against some of the top fencing programs in the nation.
 
The Violet defeated Vassar College 20-7, but fell short to Sacred Heart University and Columbia University, 15-12 and 20-7, respectively.
 
Highlights:

-In sabre, Andrew Kelly tallied a 6-2 record over the three rounds.
 
-Captain Christian Vastola led the way for the Violets in foil as he went 6-3. Phil Jamesson also
had a solid night, finishing with a 5-4 record.
 
-Ricky Woodward tallied the best record for NYU in the epee, going 4-4.
 
-The Violets honored their graduating seniors, Jamesson, Steven Lee, Justin Powell, Ken Sin, and Woodward.

The Violets will return to action at the U.S. Squad Championships at Ohio State University on Sunday, February 24
