The New York University men's volleyball team maintained its #7 ranking in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 15 Poll released on Tuesday, February 5.

NYU enters its first United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Crossover weekend, as they will hit the road for three away matches at Medaille College, in Buffalo, NY. The Violets will take on Hilbert College and Nazareth College on Saturday, February 9. Nazareth is also nationally ranked, as they placed #5 in the latest AVCA poll. The following day, NYU will challenge Penn State Behrend.

The Violets entered the season at #8 in the nation in the AVCA pre-season poll. After losing their season opener to Division I opponent Harvard University, the squad has won three matches in a row.

NYU's win streak includes an impressive 3-0 sweep over UVC foe SUNY Institute of Technology over the weekend.  In that match, Nick Benson reached double-digit kills with 10, while Colin LaPorte recorded eight kills along with a hitting percentage of .357.

The Violets have also earned victories over Hunter College and Ramapo College during their win streak.

The battle for the UVC title should again be a competitive one, as NYU and Nazareth are two of seven UVC teams ranked in the Top 15. They are joined by #6 Stevens Institute of Technology, #9 SUNY New Paltz, #11 Elmira College, #12 Vassar College, and #14 Medaille.
