The top 12 finishers by time in the preliminaries will advance to Saturday's finals, with the top eight in each event earning All-America accolades.
Turlip, a fifth-year senior who did not run track & field as a freshman, enters his final collegiate competition having already accumulated five All-America honors (4 indoor, 1 outdoor). He earned All-America status for the first time at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing sixth in the mile (4:13.70).
In 2011, Turlip reached All-America heights three times. Indoors, he finished fourth in the mile (4:15.43) and was a member of the Violets' seventh-place distance medley relay team (10:04.49). Outdoors, he took sixth in the 1,500m (3:55.94).
During the 2012 indoor season, Turlip again posted a fourth-place finish in the mile (4:11.56). He enters this year's race having posted the second-fastest 1,500-meter time (3:46.81) in NCAA Division III this season.
Evans makes her final NCAA appearance having earned Indoor All-America honors twice.
As a sophomore, Evans posted an eighth-place finish in the mile (5:05.25). As a junior, she moved up to a fifth-place finish in the 5,000m and set a team-record (17:04.70) in the process.
Evans also qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships this season and was 13th in the 5,000 meters.
The holder of six individual team records and a member of three NYU record-holding relays, Evans qualified for the 1,500 meters with her season-best time of 4:36.94.
"We are excited that our two seniors are making another trip to Nationals and looking to become All-Americans one last time," said NYU Head Coach Nick McDonough.
