The New York University men's fencing team will compete at the Brandeis Invitational on Saturday, February 4, in Waltham, MA.
The Invitational field features top quality teams, with University of Pennsylvania and Brown University Creceiving votes in the most recent Men's United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Coaches Poll. NYU is set to fence Pennsylvania (ranked #7), Brandeis University, Brown, Haverford College, Boston College, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Thus far in the 2011-12 season, NYU sports a record of 3-10. In the Violets' last competition, at the NYU Invitational on January 22, the men's team lost five of six matches, knocking off Wayne State University by a bout record of 14-13.
The team features fencers who bring especially impressive records into Sunday's Invitational. Philip Jamesson is 24-8 in foil and
Andrew Ark 22-12, also in foil.
Following the Brandeis Invitational, NYU return to action the next day against against Tufts University in Medford, MA.
