Men's Volleyball Set to Compete in Second NYU-Tri Meet

The Violets Look to Remain Undefeated at Home.

Fauntlroy may have been the missing piece in the Violet's first loss to Rutgers-Newark.
The #6-ranked New York University men's volleyball team hopes to continue its six-match winning streak on Saturday, February 18, when it hosts the NYU-Tri Meet in the Coles Sports Center.

The team is 2-0 at home on the season with both wins coming during the first NYU Tri-Meet. This time the Violets play tougher competition as they face off against #13-ranked Ramapo College at 1:00pm and NCAA Division I foe Rutgers-Newark at 6:00pm.

This season NYU and Ramapo have been mirror images of each other, which should make for an exciting match. Both schools enter the contest with an overall record of 7-2, a conference record of 5-0 and are undefeated at home.

“Ramapo is a very good team,” said head coach Jose Pina. “We have to play well in order to avoid being upset.”

The Violets final match of the evening is a bit more personal. The team looks to avenge a tough five-set loss to Rutgers-Newark, suffered on the road in their first match of the season on January, 20.

NYU won the first two sets (25-22, 25-22) before dropping the next three (16-25, 21-25, 9-15). However, that match was played without the Violet's starting opposite hitter Taylor Fauntleroy
