UAA Championships - Meet Results
A trio of NYU runners dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase event on the first day of competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Track & Field Championships at Washington University in St. Louis.
Calvin Lee, Ryan Boyd and Brian Broderick finished among the top five in the event.
Lee led the NYU group with a second-place finish in a time of 9:23.92. Boyd crossed the tape next, taking third place with a time of 9:25.55. Broderick was a fifth-place finisher, posting a time of 9:45.31.
The trio combined for 18 points for the Violets.
Sebastian Schwelm, who ran the 10,000 meters for the first time this outdoor season, posted a third-place finish in a time of 31:18.66 and secured six points for the Violets.
Also scoring for NYU was Jonny Annunziata in the shot put. The freshman threw a personal-best distance of 13.80 meters to secure fourth place and five points.
Daniel McKinney, who ran in preliminary heats of the 400 meters and the 200 meters, qualified for Sunday's finals in both events. He posted the fastest time of the day in the 400m (personal-best 49.02) and the fourth-fastest in the 200m (personal-best 22.64).
Overall, NYU is in fifth place with a team score of 29 points.
Host Washington is in first place with 70 points.
