New York University Hall of Famer and Boston Celtics legend Satch Sanders was featured in the Boston Globe on Thursday. Venerable sportswriter Bob Ryan chronicles the stylish and substantive exploits of Sanders, who is being honored at the 25th annual Sport in Society's True Heroes of Sport Awards.

Sanders was the captain of the 1959-60 NYU team that compiled a 22-5 record and advanced to the NCAA Final Four. Led by Sanders, the Violets won the East Regional Championship after defeating Connecticut, West Virginia and Duke. The '59-60 team will be recognized on the 50th anniversary of their Final Four appearance at the Hall of Fame and Reunion reception on Saturday, May 8.
