The men's volleyball team will kick off its home schedule tonight at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center, when it hosts rival Stevens Institute of Technology at 7 p.m.

The Violets opened their season on Jan. 12 with a straight-sets loss to Division I power St. Francis, despite out-killing the Red Flash, 40-33. While strong at the net, NYU struggled with 24 service errors.

Despite the loss, NYU is ranked #5 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 15 Poll, which was released on Jan. 19. The Violets check in behind Juniata College, the University of California at Santa Cruz, Springfield College, and tonight's opponent, Stevens Tech, which will be playing its first game of the season.

Last season, NYU was 0-2 against Stevens Tech.
