The New York University men's tennis team posted a commanding 7-0 win over Salisbury University on Senior Day on Sunday, April 12, in the Bronx, NY. 

On an afternoon dedicated to celebrating their leadership and legacy, seniors Cooper Kline, Niklas von Hellens and Shido Ito rose to the occasion to anchor a flawless team performance as the Violets won their eighth-straight match.

In doubles play, the Violets set the tone early, earning two out of three wins to secure the doubles point. 

Bryan Hui and von Hellens set the pace with a dominant 6–2 score at No. 1, while the No. 2 pair of Jeh-Lei Fan and Ito showcased perfect chemistry in a 6–1 victory.

With the momentum firmly in their favor, NYU maintained its lead by sweeping all six singles matches.

At No. 1, von Hellens delivered a 6–1, 6–3 win. Hui followed with a 6–3, 7–6 victory at No. 2. At No. 3, Ito earned a 6–1, 6–3 win, while Fan showcased incredible resilience by rallying for a three-set victory of 6–1, 2–6, 6–2 at No. 4.

At No. 5, Kline posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory. The final point of the match came from Seiya Kudo at No. 6, who earned an identical 6-1, 6-1 win.

"A good day at the office for the guys," said Head Coach Horace Choy.  "The team was fired up for Senior Day and it showed in the result. Jeh-lei and Shido got off to a hot start and won their doubles easily. Bryan and Nik were not far behind, staking us to a 1-0 lead. We carried the momentum into the singles and swept them with some solid play. Happy to extend our winning streak and end the season undefeated at home."

Following this dominant Senior Day showing, the Violets return to the road on Tuesday, April 14, for a match against St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY.
