The New York University men's tennis team returned for the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championship with competition against opponents from various colleges on Saturday, September 26, in Saratoga, NY. 

The Violet duo of Boren Zheng and Bryan Hui secured their spot to the final round after successfully defeating The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) opponents Felipe Postolov and Nathan Chen 8-5. Zheng and Hui's victory qualifies them for the ITA Cup in Rome, GA. 

"Boren and Brian both played great to advance to the final tomorrow," said Head Coach Dillon Pottish.

The graduate-junior doubles pair will face Hamilton College's Alexei Katelevsky and Filip Moeller on Sunday. 

The NYU freshman Kenn Wijesekara secured a victory in his singles match against opponent Deven Pandey from Saint Francis University, winning the overall B Draw singles.

"Kenn played really well today," Pottish added.

"I'm really proud of how all the guys competed and fought," Pottish said. "We just have to finish the tournament strong tomorrow."

Zheng and Hui's final match is set to begin at 11:00am on Sunday, September 27, in Saratoga, NY.
