The New York University men's and women's swimming teams continued the season over the first weekend of February, traveling to West Point, N.Y., for the Army Invite. The meet was held over two sessions, Feb. 6-7.
No team scores were recorded in the meet.
Kicking off the Friday session,
Kenny Meyer recorded his best time of the season in the men's 500 freestyle. The rookie clocked in at 4:40.47, just under two seconds better than his best time of the year.
Daniel Gustin also improved on his best time this season in the men's 50 free. He dropped 0.11 seconds off his top time, clocking in at 20.68 and placing second.
Hector Mu took fourth for NYU in 21.01.
In the men's 400 individual medley (IM),
Matthew King took first, finishing in 4:08.51.
Grace Baik took fourth place in the women's 100 butterfly, recording a 57.04 time. On the men's side, Mu took second in 49.21.
Sophia Liwanag led the field in the women's 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:05.96.
Cormac Ryan (56.55) was the lone swimmer on the men's side.
The Violets recorded another career-best time in the women's 100 freestyle, as
Molly Sleman took first in 52.60. Gustin (45.52) topped his previous best on the men's side, also taking first.
Alice Ciobanu narrowly missed out on a first-place finish in the first race of the Saturday session, finishing the women's 500 freestyle with a 5:13.43 time.
Sleman clocked another personal best in the 50 freestyle, finishing in 24.17. Gustin took first on the men's side, finishing in 20.84.
Meyer also went low in the men's mile swim, taking first with a personal-best 16:13.98 time.
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams next head to Chicago, IL, for the 2026 UAA Championships. The meet will be held Feb. 11-14 and hosted by the University of Chicago.
