Dr. Marissa Muoio Named Academic and Program Administrator of OSAE

Dr. Marissa Muoio has joined New York University as the Academic and Program Administrator in the Office of Student-Athlete Excellence.

In her new role at NYU, Dr. Muoio will assist with academic support for the men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf, men's and women's fencing, and women's volleyball programs. Building on her extensive background in leadership advocacy, she will also help with the continued growth, development, and visibility of the Violet Leadership Academy curriculum and programming, fostering essential skills to empower student-athletes on and off the field.

A former varsity softball student-athlete at Seton Hall, Dr. Muoio brings a unique blend of personal athletic experience and educational leadership to the NYU community. She holds an Ed.D. in Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University.

Dr. Muoio joins NYU following a distinguished career in K-12 administration, where she was a tireless advocate for student growth and institutional innovation. Most recently, Marissa served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Leadership at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, NJ. While there, she provided stewardship for the vision of the National Center for Girls' Leadership (NCGLS), where she designed and implemented innovative leadership endorsement programs and established national research partnerships focused on student-belonging and purpose. Prior to that, she served as Stuart's Head of Upper School and Dean of Academics at Mt. St. Dominic Academy in Caldwell, NJ.

Dr. Muoio is a recognized voice in educational leadership and equity. She was honored as a 2023 YWCA Princeton Tribute to Women recipient for her commitment to empowering marginalized communities. A visionary researcher, she has led national studies on adolescent development, authored "The Cor Cordis Blueprint for Student Well-Being", and has an upcoming case study on girls' leadership development slated for textbook release in late 2026.

A native of Cedar Grove, NJ, Muoio resides in Rumson, NJ, with her wife Meg.
