Hannah Mitchell has joined New York University as the Academic and Program Administrator in the Office of Student-Athlete Excellence. In her role, Mitchell will assist with academic support for men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf, men's and women's fencing, and women's volleyball programs. Additionally, she will help with the continued growth and development of the Violet Leadership Academy curriculum and programming.
Prior to her role at NYU, Mitchell worked as the Student-Athlete Development Coordinator at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where she was responsible for the creation and implementation of student-athlete development programs and initiatives that promoted the holistic growth of all UC Irvine student-athletes. While there, Mitchell also helped to develop and lead a University Studies course for all incoming first-year students that is designed to get them acclimated to student-athlete life at the Division I level and learn about the vast network of campus resources at their disposal.
In addition to program and course development, Mitchell also advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Black Student-Athlete Alliance (BSAA).
Previously, Hannah worked at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as an Academic Mentor for football, track & field, women's soccer, softball, and women's basketball. She was responsible for meeting with students and discussing their academic progress throughout the quarter, as well as helping provide support with time management and organization strategies.
Mitchell received her Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs with a focus in Athletic Administration from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2022. She graduated in 2019 from University of La Verne, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Affairs and Information. While there, Mitchell participated in multiple extra curricular activities, including Greek life, residence life, and participating in the Chamber Singers, teh University's auditioned choral ensemble.
A native of San Diego, CA, Mitchell resides in Manhattan.
