Caroline Peper Named DII/III MBWA Women's Player of the Week

Senior Guard Earns Additional Accolade Following Stellar Performance

For the first time in her career, Caroline Peper of the #1-ranked New York University women's basketball team has been named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II/III Women's Player of the Week following record-tying performance against Brandeis University on Saturday afternoon.

The honor comes after she was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week earlier in the week.

The South Easton, MA, native poured in 37 points on 13-of-28 shooting from the field, including 11-of-22 from beyond the arc, in a 79-49 win in the Violets' UAA opener on Saturday. Her 11 three-pointers tied the record that she previously owned. Additionally, Peper registered two rebounds, two assists, one block, and three steals.

With the victory, NYU extended its winning streak to 74, which currently ranks fourth all-time in NCAA women's basketball across all divisions.

The Violets will continue their season with a home matchup against the University of Rochester on Friday, January 16, at 7:30pm at the John A. Paulson Center.
