Women's Track and Field Compete in the Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener

Members Compete in the 3000m and 5000m

Four members of the New York University Women's track & field team competed at the Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener, hosted by Boston University on Saturday, December 6, in Boston, MA.

Stella Kuttner ran the 3000m, while Janie Cooper, Josephine Dziedzic, and Ashlyn Pallotta ran the 5000m.

Overall, 94 racers started the 3000m, with Kuttner placing 58th. She ran a personal-best 9:52.92, beating her previous best time by almost 10 seconds. 

In the 5000m, Dziedzic was the fastest of three, finishing with a time of 16:44.43. Cooper finished right behind her, only six seconds back with 16:50.34. They finished 12th and 15th in their heat respectively. Pallotta, competing in her first indoor track event, ran a 17:34.46. Overall, 190 racers competed in the event. 

The track and field next takes the track on January 16, 2026, when they travel to the Armory in Staten Island, NY to participate in the NYC Gotham Cup.
