New York University's women's golf team made the cut and sits 10th after three rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship at the par-72 Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, KY.
The Violets were tied for fifth after the second round and advanced as part of the top 15 of 29 teams.
The second round was halted about halfway through yesterday due to bad weather and was finished Thursday morning, May 23, followed by the entire third round.
After two rounds,
Tiya Chowdary was tied for fourth with a score of 146 (+2) while
Nalinda Wanikpun and
Michelle Zhou both sat tied for 25th (152).
Momentum shifted in round three, however, as NYU slipped to 10th with a total score of 925, seven behind ninth-place George Fox University and two ahead of 11th-place Williams College.
Chowdary remains among the top 20, tied for 17th with a three-day score of 225. Zhou (230) is tied for 30th, one stroke better than Wanikpun who is tied for 36th.
Irene Park (T62nd, 239) and
Summer Yang (T69th, 244) are also competing for the Violets.
The field of 150 golfers has now shrunk to 81, with the fourth and final round of the Championship taking place Friday, May 24, at Keene Trace.
