The New York University men's track & field team concluded competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, on Sunday, April 28.
George Brady finished third out of 19 competitors in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:59.30.
In the triple jump,
Nishad Sankar took fifth with a mark of 13.68 while
Isaac Tu leapt 13.30m to take tenth and notch a new best in the event.
Emmanuel Brito posted a fifth-place finish in the final section of the 200-meter dash, clocking 22.39. He also competed in the final section of the 100, taking sixth with a time of 11.21.
Freshman
Julian Aske notched his second UAA podium finish of the year with a sixth-place, 1:53.86 finish. He finished fourth in the event at the indoor championships this past February.
Samir Hussain set a new personal best in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the line in 4:12.77.
Daniel Lee surpassed his previous best in the discuss throw with his mark of 33.42m.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Aske, Brito,
Travis Perry, and
Lincoln Tutor posted a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:22.74 while the 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Brito, Perry, Tutor, and Tu finished in 43.55 to take sixth.
The team gathered 34 points to finish sixth in the seven team event. Carnegie Mellon University earned the UAA Championship with their 218 points.
The Violets are back in action on Wednesday, May 15, when they travel to Cortland, NY, to compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships.
