26 members of the New York University men's and women's swimming & diving teams will travel to the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships beginning on Wednesday, March 20, in Greensboro, NC.
The Violets have had a stellar season, with the men's team posting a 6-1 dual-meet record, capturing three first-place invitational wins, and a second-place finish at the University Athletic Association Championships (UAA). The women's team notched an overall record of 4-2 in dual-meet competition and have finished within the top three at each of their invitational appearances.
In the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll, the men's team took the fourth spot nationally, while the women are ranked fifth in the nation.
The 2023-24 men's and women's teams have set over 27 program records, the most ever in program history.
The men's record-setting 200-yard medley relay team, 200-yard freestyle relay team and 400-yard freestyle relay team will take to the pool, along with 500-yard freestyle record holder Connor Vincent, 100 and 200-yard butterfly record holder Leo Han, and 200-yard individual medley record holder Derek Maas.
Vincent, Han and Maas have already achieved NCAA All-American status in their respective events with Maas being named to NCAA Division I First Team All-American, competing as a member of the University of Alabama's team.
Kaley McIntyre will defend her national championship title in the 50 and 200-yard freestyle competition as she strives to reach All-American status in the 400 and 800-yard freestyle relay competition again when she takes to the pool this week. McIntyre is a program recorder holder in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle.
Caitlin Marshall, who was the national runner up in the 200-yard butterfly last season and the national champion in the event the year prior is poised to have a strong showing as she's already topper her personal best this season to capture a program record. Marshall also holds the program record in the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle.
Three other All-American Violets are returning to the national championship: Jolie Le Fauve (200 freestyle relay), Anna Li (400 medley relay), Isabel Oldham (400 freestyle relay and the 200 free), and Nicole Ranile (200 butterfly and the 800-yard freestyle relay).
