New York University's 10th-ranked men's swimming and diving team competed against Williams College and host MIT on Friday, January 26, in Cambridge, MA.
The Violets dominated the meet, defeating Williams (167-133) and MIT (180-118), pushing their record to 6-1 in dual meets this season.
"The men had some very strong performances. I'm very happy with how we swam and competed today," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "At this time of the year, the win/loss is not as important as racing head-to-head with teams at our level."
The Violets took the victory in the 400 yard medley relay, with Jaeden-Hans Yburan, Leo Han, Derek Maas, and Ajay Watanakun clocking a time of 3:22.79.
Maas also posted a pair of individual wins, taking the 100 breaststroke in 54.83 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:02.00.
Han also produced two victories, winning the 100 butterfly (49.18) and the 200 backstroke (1:51.48).
Connor Vincent was victorious in the 1650 free, covering the distance in an impressive time of 15:56.19.
In the diving well, William Hopkins placed second in both the one-meter and three-meter dives to aide the team victories.
"We still have a few more weeks of prep before UAA's, but I think we are in a really good place and I'm excited to see how fast they will swim," Miele added.
The divers will be return to competition this Sunday, January 28, in Ithaca, NY. The swimmers are back in the pool on Friday, February 14, when they will compete on the first day of the UAA Championships in Chicago, IL.
