New York University's men's and women's track and field teams competed at a trio of weekend meets on Friday and Saturday, accumulating eight personal records and six event victories.
A group of Violet distance runners took the track at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational while the majority of the teams were at Widener University's Chester Quarry Classic. Meanwhile, a pair of men's distance runners traveled to Princeton University for the Larry Ellis Invitational.
Chester Quarry Classic
Isre'al Conerly won a pair of women's races, taking first in the 200 (25.74) and 400-meter (59.93) dashes.
Danielle Fuller placed sixth in the 400 (66.30) and seventh in the 200 (28.56).
Fiona Kelleher won her 400-meter hurdles debut (67.40), recording the seventh-fastest time in the University Athletic Association (UAA).
Ashley Lai posted a personal best in the 800, taking eighth place with a time of 2:28.58.
Nathalie Shoji took first in pole vault with a personal-record jump of 3.10 meters (14th in UAA).
Jessica Allen (19:17.28) and
Kate Gallagher (19:31.61) finished second and third, respectively, in the 5k.
For the men,
Zion Glover won the 100-meter dash (11.21) while
Kristian Zadlo (11.54) placed sixth and
Dillon Bickerton (11.66) seventh in the event.
Glover sprinted to second place in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 22.60 seconds.
NYU nabbed the top three spots in the men's 5k as
Mubeen Zainul won the race (15:37.77),
Chris Shirazi was second (16:08.38) and
James Vasile third (16:45.44).
Zadlo showcased his versatility, taking third in the long jump with a PR (5.96m, 19th in UAA), fifth in high jump with another PR (1.67m, 10th in UAA), sixth in javelin (31.06m) and seventh in discus (29.96m).
Juan Ochoa secured a personal best in the pole vault, finishing fourth with a 4.00-meter leap (ninth in UAA).
Silfen Invitational
For the men,
Brett Asay shined in the 800-meter run, taking fourth place with a personal-best time of 1:55.45 which ranks 16th in the UAA.
On the women's side, Kelleher also PR'd in the 800, placing seventh with the UAA's 19th-fastest finish in the event this season (2:20.54).
Gabrielle Stankosh notched a personal best in the 1500, crossing the finish line in 4:53.74.
Camryn Menninger made her 5k debut, clocking in at 17:59.40 (11th in UAA) which was good for seventh place.
Katherine Cheng logged the UAA's 13th-best 5k time, completing the race in 18:04.45.
Larry Ellis Invitational
Jon Diaz ran a new outdoor personal record in the 800, completing the race in 1:54.36 which ranks ninth in the UAA.
Ryan Tobin took 20th in the 5k with a time of 14:40.62 against strong Division I competition.

The Violets will travel to the campus of Washington University in St. Louis for the UAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24.
