OFFICIAL RESULTS
The New York University men's tennis team defeated Vassar College 6-3 on Saturday, April 6, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
The Violets improved to 4-3 this season with the win, while Vassar dropped to 7-5.
In doubles play, the Violets managed to secure one win as
Shrikar Kundur and
Vishal Walia won the #3 match 8-5.
In singles play, the men were dominant. Walia won the #1 match 6-4, 6-1,
Yanik Parsch won the #3 match 6-3, 6-3,
Rahul Das won the #4 match 6-2, 6-4,
Lucas Biondi won the #5 match 6-1, 6-2, and
Christian Otero won the #6 match 6-0, 6-1.
"This was a good start to the weekend and a good win after a couple weeks off from matches," said Assistant Coach Ben Lee. "Vassar is a gritty team. We had some strong performances and were able to win the key points when we needed to. We have a tough match tomorrow, but I think our guys are ready."
The men face UAA (University Athletic Association) rival Brandeis University on Sunday, April 7, at 10:00am in Waltham, MA.
