COMPLETE RESULTS
After dropping its opening match at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship,the New York University women's tennis team bounced back with a dominating performance as it shut out the University of Rochester 5-0 on Friday, April 26, in Altamonte Springs, FL.
The fifth-seeded Violets (9-2) swept the eighth-seeded Yellowjackets (6-8) in doubles before winning three singles matchest to clinch the victory and advance to Saturday's fifth-place match against Washington University in St. Louis.
NYU won all three doubles matches comfortably as
Fleura Shiyanova and
Coco Kulle earned an 8-3 victory at #1,
Anna Maria Buraya and
Judy Kam won 8-2 at #2, and
Rupa Ganesh and
Kate Shaffer were victorious by an 8-5 score at #3.
Kulle then earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #2 singles, while Kam clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #5 singles.
The Violets' fifth-place match against WashU is scheduled to begin at 8:30am on Saturday morning back in Altamonte Springs.
