Victoria Wang of the New York University women's tennis team advanced to the semifinal round of singles play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championship.

Noelle Faber took to the singles courts for the Round of 16 on Saturday, October 3, in Saratoga, NY.
Wang successfully advanced to the semifinals with two straight-set victories. She cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 win against Ariane Karera from St. Lawrence University. Then, in her match against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Gauri Muliyil, she fell 6-3 in the first set, but shortly secured her ticket to the semifinals with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 comeback.
Two of the other NYU participants won their Round of 16 matches.
Kast defeated Muhan Cui from Hamilton College 6-4, 6-4. In her next match, she started strong against Skidmore College's Ginevra Muratori with a 6-3 set victory. But, she dropped the next two 6-1, 6-3.
Faber advanced after Hamilton's Jessica Marie Pages retired due to injury while trailing 7-6, 3-2. She faced Vassar College's Sieun Lee next, winning the first set 6-1 before falling in the next two 6-2, 6-1.
In her Round of 16 match, Bondarenko battled against St. Francis University's Helena Lynn and dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision.
"Today the team showed great fight in the quarterfinals. Really proud of how all four of our players competed," said Head Coach
Dillon Pottish. "We have a lot to build on for the spring season, and we are looking forward to seeing Victoria battle tomorrow in the semifinals."
Wang will face St. Francis's Helena Lynn for the semifinal round of the ITA Regional tomorrow at 11:00am, at host Skidmore in Saratoga, NY.
